About the publication

Who runs SlotMap?

A team of three. Giovanni Picaro, founder and Editor-in-Chief, brings five years of VIP customer support experience inside the iGaming industry (Italian-market specialist). Marcus T. is our senior reviewer for UKGC and MGA-licensed operators, with a decade in the industry. Elena V. leads compliance and responsible gambling from a Malta base. Full bios on Meet the Team.

When was the site founded?

Early 2019. The first reviews were published that year and the publication has operated continuously since.

Are you a casino?

No. SlotMap is an editorial review publication. We do not accept deposits, hold player funds, process bets, or operate any gambling product. We hold no gaming license because we do not provide gaming services. We review casinos run by other companies.

How often do you publish?

Less than larger affiliate sites. Our hands-on testing methodology takes 8–12 weeks per operator. We prioritize substance over volume.

Editorial questions

Do you actually deposit money at the casinos you review?

Yes. Every review involves a real-money sign-up, deposit, play through the bonus (if any), KYC submission, and withdrawal initiation by the named reviewer. The full methodology is on How We Test. We do not review operators based on summaries of other reviews.

Do you use AI to write reviews?

No. Editorial drafting, opinions, license verification, and verdicts are written by named human team members. Some narrow operational uses (translation help for non-English regulator documents, spell-check, alt-text drafting subject to human review) are permitted and disclosed in our AI Usage Policy.

How do you choose what to review?

The editorial team picks operators based on what our readers would benefit from knowing about. Affiliate availability and operator outreach do not drive these decisions; the framework is on our Casino Review Policy.

How do I report an error?

Email info [at] slotmap [punto] space with the subject line Correction request: [URL]. License-affecting and regulatory corrections are prioritized. The full process is in our Corrections Policy.

Why do you only have four verdict categories?

Because numeric scores create false precision. A “8.4 out of 10” is not more meaningful than “recommended for low-stakes slot players in the UK; not recommended for high-stakes table-game play.” Our verdict categories β€” Recommended, Conditional recommendation, Not recommended, Verdict deferred β€” communicate the substance.

Practical and technical

Is using your site legal where I live?

It depends on your jurisdiction. The Site is for adults of legal gambling age in jurisdictions where the consumption of online gambling content is lawful. See our Age Verification & Restricted Jurisdictions page.

Why doesn’t your site use Google AdSense?

AdSense’s program policies do not permit ads on pages whose primary content is real-money gambling. Because our editorial focus is online casino reviews, AdSense is not an option for us. Our advertising is served by Adsterra, which accepts gambling-vertical publishers under appropriate compliance frameworks. Details in our Cookie Policy.

Why do some links carry “(affiliate link)”?

Because they are affiliate links to operators. If you click and sign up, the operator pays us a commission, and you pay nothing extra. The full disclosure is on the Affiliate Disclosure page. Our editorial verdicts are unaffected by affiliate availability.

Can I quote your reviews?

Yes, in fair-use quantities (roughly up to 150 words from a single article) with attribution and a link to the original. For larger uses, see our Copyright Notice.

Can I use your screenshots?

Generally no. Our test-cycle screenshots are produced during real-money testing and are protected by copyright. The unauthorized reuse of our screenshots by competing affiliate sites is something we actively monitor. Email info [at] slotmap [punto] space if you have a legitimate use case.

Can I use your reviews for AI training?

No. We expressly do not authorize the use of our content for training generative AI models. Full statement in our Copyright Notice.

Privacy and accounts

Do I need an account to read?

No. The Site is freely readable by adults in eligible jurisdictions.

Do you track me?

We use server logs and, with consent, analytics and advertising cookies. The full picture is in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. You can revisit your cookie consent at any time using the link in the footer.

How do I exercise my GDPR / CCPA rights?

Email privacy [at] slotmap [punto] space with the subject line specifying the right you wish to exercise. Standard processing time is 30 days; we usually respond sooner.

Operator-related questions

I have a dispute with an operator you have reviewed. What should I do?

Your recourse is (a) the operator’s complaints process, (b) the regulator-mandated alternative dispute resolution body (IBAS, eCOGRA), and (c) the regulator directly. We are not a party to your relationship with the operator and cannot intervene. We do welcome reports of disputes β€” email info [at] slotmap [punto] space β€” because patterns inform our re-review and may lead to verdict changes; but we cannot recover your funds for you.

Do you guarantee that the operators you recommend will treat me well?

No. Our reviews reflect the experience of our test reviewers in their specific test conditions on the dates of testing. Operator behavior may differ for other players, in other jurisdictions, at other times. We commit to annual re-review and to faster updates when material changes occur.

Why don’t you review more operators?

Because our methodology takes 8–12 weeks per operator and produces fewer reviews than we would publish if we used summaries of operator marketing material. We have chosen the trade-off deliberately.

Why do you sometimes recommend Curaçao-licensed operators?

Curaçao-licensed operators are part of the regulated online casino landscape, particularly in markets where Tier 1 (UKGC, MGA) operators do not accept players. Where we cover them, we do so with explicit caveats about player-protection limitations under the Curaçao framework. We do not pretend a Tier 3 license is equivalent to a Tier 1 license. The framework is on How We Test.

Responsible gambling

I think I might have a gambling problem. What should I do?

Please call a problem-gambling helpline today. The numbers are at the top of our Responsible Gambling page. Help is free, confidential, and 24/7. Do not start by emailing us; call the helpline first. Then if you want to follow up with us about anything specific to our content, email responsiblegambling [at] slotmap [punto] space.

Can I block this site if I am self-excluded?

Yes. We recommend Gamban or BetBlocker, which block tens of thousands of gambling-related sites at the device level. They are described in detail on our Responsible Gambling page.

If I am self-excluded with GamStop, will I be blocked from your site?

National self-exclusion schemes (GamStop, ROFUS, OASIS, RUA) block your access to licensed operators in their jurisdiction; they do not directly block access to editorial content sites like SlotMap. For a comprehensive block, install Gamban or BetBlocker.

Working with us

Can I submit a guest article?

Yes, with strong preference for areas we currently underrepresent: Spanish DGOJ market, French ANJ market, Nordic markets, German federal-state licensing, US state-by-state regulation. See Meet the Team.

I represent an operator. How do we get reviewed?

See Casino Review Policy and Operator Partnerships. The right address is partnerships [at] slotmap [punto] space.

Will you remove a negative review for the right price?

No.

Will you write a positive review for the right price?

No.
