Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 2026

SlotMap is committed to making its content accessible to the widest possible adult audience, including readers with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive impairments. This statement describes our conformance target, the standards we apply, the known limitations we are working on, and how to report accessibility issues.

1. Standards we follow

Our conformance target is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the Level AA conformance criteria of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1. We also apply relevant best practices from WCAG 2.2 where they meaningfully improve the experience for our readers.

The applicable legal framework includes the EU Web Accessibility Directive 2016/2102 (where applicable to our publication), the European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882, in force from June 2025), the Italian implementation Legge 9 gennaio 2004 n. 4 (Legge Stanca) as amended, the UK Equality Act 2010 where its obligations extend to private publications, and the United States Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) where applied to commercial websites under prevailing case law.

2. What we have done

  • Headings are structured hierarchically, allowing navigation by screen reader and outlining tools.
  • Body text contrast targets a minimum 4.5:1 ratio against background; large text targets 3:1, in line with WCAG AA. Our brand colors (deep navy, muted gold) were specifically chosen to meet these contrast standards.
  • All editorial images carry descriptive alt text. The alt text describes the visual content of the image and, for screenshots from the testing cycle, identifies the operator interface element being shown.
  • Links are described meaningfully (“read our review of [Operator],” not “click here”).
  • Form fields, where present, have associated labels.
  • The site is keyboard-navigable; tab order follows the visual reading order.
  • Skip-to-content links allow users of assistive technology to bypass repeated navigation.
  • Tables (used for license-tier comparisons, cookie inventories, etc.) have proper header rows associated with data cells.
  • The site does not rely on color alone to convey information; contextual indicators are paired with color cues. License-tier indicators are particularly designed with this in mind.
  • Animations are minimized and respect the user’s prefers-reduced-motion setting where the underlying technology supports it.

3. Known limitations

  • Older articles โ€” some articles published before our current alt-text standards may have placeholder or missing alt text. We are working through the archive systematically.
  • Third-party advertising โ€” the accessibility of advertising content served by Adsterra is largely controlled by Adsterra and the advertisers. We cannot guarantee accessibility of third-party ad creative.
  • Operator-supplied screenshots โ€” screenshots of operator sign-up pages, deposit interfaces, and game libraries are documentary evidence from our testing cycle. The text in these screenshots is captured by alt text where it is meaningful for understanding the review, but the operator’s interface itself is not under our control.
  • Affiliate-network creatives โ€” banner creatives provided by affiliate networks may have limited accessibility provisions outside our control.
  • Reader comments โ€” user-generated comments may not be written with screen-reader users in mind; we moderate but do not rewrite.

4. Assistive technologies tested

The site has been tested with the following assistive technology combinations:

  • NVDA (recent versions) with Chrome and Firefox on Windows.
  • VoiceOver with Safari on macOS and iOS.
  • TalkBack with Chrome on Android.
  • Keyboard-only navigation across all major browsers.
  • Browser zoom up to 200% without breakdown of layout or loss of content.

If you encounter difficulties using the site with another assistive technology configuration, please report it.

5. Reporting an accessibility issue

If you have encountered an accessibility barrier on SlotMap, please email info [at] slotmap [punto] space with the subject line Accessibility issue and include:

  • The URL of the page where you encountered the issue.
  • The nature of the issue (what could you not do, or what was unclear).
  • The assistive technology and browser/OS combination you were using.
  • Whether you would like a callback or text response (we default to text).

We aim to respond to accessibility reports within seven business days, and to resolve straightforward issues within 30 days where the fix is within our control.

6. Alternative formats

If you need an article in an alternative format โ€” large-text PDF, plain-text version, audio narration โ€” please email us with the URL and the format requested. We will provide the alternative within a reasonable time, free of charge.

7. Accessibility and responsible gambling

Accessibility is particularly important for our Responsible Gambling page. The page is structured to be readable by screen readers, navigable by keyboard, and accessible at high zoom levels. The hotline numbers and resource links are positioned to be reachable in the first screen of content for users of all assistive-technology configurations. If our Responsible Gambling page is ever difficult for you to access, that is the highest-priority accessibility issue on our site; please report it directly to responsiblegambling [at] slotmap [punto] space and we will address it as priority.

8. Ongoing improvements

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review our accessibility status quarterly, prioritize issues identified by readers, and apply fixes as part of our regular publication cycle.

9. External validation

We do not currently undergo formal third-party accessibility audits. As we grow, we expect to commission an external audit and to publish the results with a clear remediation plan.

For technical accessibility resources, the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative is the authoritative reference.
